Programme and Project Assumptions

Living with Permanence: Functionality and Comfort in a Contemporary Two Bedroom Apartment
The starting point was the creation of a main residence with continuous, rather than merely seasonal, use. For a couple with roots divided between Portugal and Brazil, the proposal required a balance between cosy living areas and practical solutions for everyday life.

Spatial Organisation and Functional Layout

Open Space and Programme Versatility

The flat develops from an open-plan social area – living room and kitchen in visual continuity – which favours spaciousness. The private area consists of a Japanese-influenced master bedroom and a second bedroom designed as a hybrid space: home office and guest suite.

Coating Materials and Solutions

Walnut, Linen and Neutral Colours as a Sensory Base

The walnut wood carpentry was customised, introducing texture and identity without visually overloading the space. Curtains, rugs and fabrics in shades of beige and taupe reinforce the colour harmony, promoting a soft reading of the whole.

Luminotechnical study

Indirect Lighting and Adjustable Atmospheres

The lighting proposal is based on continuous, dimmable LED strips integrated into fixed elements and horizontal planes, creating environments with different levels of intimacy. The light intensity control allows for fluid transitions between day and night use.

Construction Details and Integrated Carpentry

Bespoke Furniture as an Extension of Architecture

Built-in library, low-profile bed and functional furniture designed to respond to the specifics of the floor plan – each element was conceived as a continuity of the architectural space. The use of integrated solutions maximised storage and optimised spatial reading.

Project Stages and Remote Coordination

Comprehensive Management: From Survey to Completed Project

The team accompanied all the phases: survey, concept, executive design and construction, with the clients still abroad. The process was carried out with great precision, with an overall deadline of two months between the award of the contract and final delivery.

The LM Project is a reflection of Vangor’s approach to interior architecture: customised solutions, attention to detail and an absolute focus on the real experience of spaces.

Each project we develop is based on careful listening and results in a functional, aesthetic and emotional response.
